Wayne Weng, the 2002 winner of the Pacific Piano Competition, will be playing an all-Chopin program in honour of the 200th birthday of Chopin. Guest artists will be the Donna Fishwick Piano Ensemble.
A prize winner in many competitions, Wayne recently received the 2009 Solti Foundation grant and has performed in Canada, the USA, Holland, France, England, Serbia, Belgium, Austria and Egypt as a soloist and collaborative pianist. He has played at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, Steinway Hall in New York, Cairo Opera House, and the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. Current engagements include Hong Kong, Washington, London, Cambridge and Vancouver.
Assisting for one group of selections will be Carol Zhang, Bonnie Lee, Annie Chung, Connor Lim and Nicholas Lachica.
